McKale Smoothie

Instead of going to McDonald’s for a McKale, just make this smoothie. Trust me. Just because it has kale on it doesn’t mean the rest of the ingredients magically don’t affect your body!

This is true fast food–I bet you can make this smoothie in under 3 mins!


2 ribs purple kale*, de-stemmed (leaves only)

1 c. frozen mixed berries

1 scoop protein powder (I’m using pea protein right now)

Sprinkle of cinnamon

Splash of vanilla extract

Drizzle of raw, local honey

1-1.5 c almond/coconut/rice milk

Blend on high* until smooth.

*high speed blender works best to pulverize kale & other greens, so you won’t be chewing bits & pieces

*if you can’t find purple kale, use the regular green kind
Do you think it’s a good idea for McDonald’s to add “superfoods” like kale to its menu, or should people looking for healthier options just go somewhere else?
